2 Care UK Ltd

Programme

The whole programme is service user driven and focuses on main areas of personal growth. 2 care focuses on ‘Measurable Outcomes’ which define the ‘Distance Travelled’ of each individual. This means that each service user is given every chance to fulfil their potential in all areas of independence, and ensures that all results are well evidenced. The service users views and wishes are communicated through day to day keyworking and our regular resident participation meetings.

Promoting independence – ensuring each individual is given every chance to realise their potential and work towards achieving obtainable goals and aspirations, helping to build self confidence and esteem.

Living Skills -  Our in house OT team help to improve practical skills needed for everyday living, such as cleaning, menu planning, shopping for food and cooking meals, and laundry. Special focus is also given to the areas of money management and budgeting skills, including the use of our in-house bank. We also assist with basic numeracy and literacy.

Paid Therapeutic Work – 2 Care provides many varied opportunities for this very beneficial part of our programme, including working at our café, gardening, on site maintenance etc.

Social Skills Development – To encourage positive interaction with peer groups. To assist in widening each service user’s social circle we encourage enrolment at local colleges, attendance at local day centres, and accessing the community in general.

Health and Well Being – To encourage meeting personal care needs; to remain compliant with medication; to attend all relevant medical and dental appointments, including G.P. and mental health appointments. To encourage healthy eating and meeting dietary choices and needs. To encourage fitness awareness.

Recreational Activities - 2 Care recognises how beneficial recreational activities, in conjunction with the above, can be in assisting our service users to (re)gain motivation. It also helps build self esteem and self confidence therefore helping to introduce/maintain stability. This then provides an excellent foundation for our service users to work towards their life aims and meet their aspirations.
